September 2016 – visit to Echologia
Fourteen members – 8 British, 4 French and 2 American – had lunch at L’Escale restaurant in Louverné on Saturday 10 September.
Then we were shown round the ecologically themed tourist site “Echologia” by a bilingual guide. It was fascinating to learn how this abandoned chalk quarry with its huge kilns had been rescued.
Then we had a cup of tea on a terrace overlooking one of the lakes.
