SATURDAY, JULY 7th

A SELECTION OF 5 ACTIVITIES & A PICNIC FOR A CONVIVIAL AFTERNOON in CHATEAU-GONTIER

Our base was Quai Pierre de Coubertin, in Chateau-Gontier, beside the canoe/Kayak centre.

 

EuroMayenne members were invited to make their choice among these 5 activities:

  1. Guided Tour of the historical town of Chateau-Gontier

  2. Walking on the towpath along the river Mayenne

  3. Cycling on the towpath along the river Mayenne

  4. Paddleboat on the river Mayenne

  5. Kayaking on the river Mayenne

Most chose the tour – well two brave souls went kayaking! – but the weather was so bad that the Tourist Office, which provided the guide, suggested a guided tour of the Ursuline Convent so that we could keep dry. And to finish, a picnic & barbeque by the riverside (under an awning as the weather had not improved!)
