June 2015 – visit to Granville
A day out in Granville
on Wednesday 17 June
This is the report of one of those who went:
“We had a super day there was 9 members: 8 English (2 new members) and one French.
Le Roc de Harmonies [click the link] is a fantastic place, with displays of beautiful butterflies and beetles from all over the world.
The fish were so colourful, and then there was a grotto made from shells with pictures and animals made from shells.
We ate at the snackbar (outside on the balcony ) overlooking the sea the food was good and reasonable (watch out for seagulls !)
Then we walked along the sea front (about 1.4 km) to the Christian Dior museum [click the link] – quite a climb when you get there !
The roses were spectacular and the museum was very interesting.
All in all a really enjoyable day.”
Many thanks to Lynn Chesters for organising this outing.
